JOB DISTINCTIONS : Differs from IT Statewide Associate Analyst 4 by the presence of independent analyses involving moderately complex information technology initiatives, business processes, and/or systems. Differs from IT Statewide Analyst 2 by the absence of analyses for complex information technology initiatives, business processes, and/or systems. Examples of Work This is a full-time, on-site position located in the Greater Baton Rouge area. The Office of Technology Services (OTS) aims to be a responsible partner in delivering innovative, effective, and reliable solutions that support and enhance the IT functions within Executive Branch Departments. The Office of Technology Services will work to increase the return on the State’s investment in technology by promoting smart decision-making, solving problems intelligently, increasing the rate of project success, and fostering a skilled and professional staff. This advanced position is in the Office of Technology Services (OTS), Application and Data Management (AppDM) Health. The incumbent supports several highly complex systems and serves as the OTS Oracle Administrator for the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), Office of Public Health. The incumbent will provide technical advice to management, program staff, contractors and analysts. Serve as the lead analyst for the OPH supporting highly complex programs and applications. Collaborate with contactors and federal partners on software upgrades. Meet with users extensively on new projects and on system implementation. Provide technical support to OPH lab, program staff and managers. Confer with other OTS verticals on system migration, maintenance and enhancements. Serve as the Oracle Database Administrator maintaining mission critical OPH databases. Create reports for management decision making. Participate in business requirement sessions. Maintain system and technical documentation. Train users on new products and software when necessary. Attend weekly meetings with OTS management and OPH management, program staff and contractors. Assist OPH program offices to determine technical requirements, plan, research, analyze, design, estimate, install, configure, test, and maintain all database systems.
