IT Support Technician 2
Description We are looking for an IT Support Technician 2 to join our team in New Haven, Connecticut. In this role, you will manage the complete desktop computing environment of a client department, maintain and update software and hardware inventories, and provide comprehensive support to clients, including training and emergency assistance. Responsibilities: • Overseeing a client department's desktop computing environment, ensuring smooth operation and integration of network and software products. • Setting up and managing departmental units in Active Directory, which includes analyzing and implementing group policy needs. • Keeping software up-to-date by conducting proactive site visits and maintaining an inventory of installed operating systems and application software. • Managing and maintaining computer hardware and peripherals, including recommending replacements and dealing with vendors for the acquisition of computer products. • Installing and coordinating repairs for a variety of computing devices and peripherals, both on the desktop and network attached. • Responding to both emergency and routine calls for computer assistance, supporting core services such as email, scheduling and backup systems, as well as client-specific applications. • Documenting all reported problems and actions taken to resolve them. • Providing support and training to clients in the use of their desktop equipment. • Analyzing, recommending, and implementing work-group computing solutions to meet departmental needs. • Training other support technicians and completing technical projects such as testing hardware and software products. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft applications is necessary. • Solid understanding of Active Directory is required. • Familiarity with Computer Hardware is a must. • Experience in Deskside Support is crucial. • Knowledge of Mac Computers is essential. • Ability to perform Basic Troubleshooting is required. • Skills in Network Troubleshooting are a must. • Proficiency in Hardware Troubleshooting is critical.
