A Brief Overview The IT Support Technician has a strong focus on end user system management. As a vital member of the IT team, the IT Support Technician provides frontline support for the end users, identifying, tracking, and swiftly resolving issues. Working closely with the IT team, this role leads the troubleshooting, installing, and configuring efforts for all end user computer software and hardware. This includes providing end user system support in IT as well as OT across all DU sites. Additionally, the IT Support Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth operation and efficient management of end user systems. A successful Technician excels in providing exceptional user support, is excellent at managing end user systems effectively, all while assisting the Systems Administrators on the team. Responsibilities Configure, install and maintain workstation hardware, operating systems, and applications. Perform and/or recommend remedial actions to correct software, hardware, and system issues. Responsible for the process of end user system deployment, support, and upgrades. Efficiently track, manage, and report on help desk tickets to ensure timely resolution of end user issues. Provide support for audio-visual equipment, phones, and mobile devices. Ensure users receive training and assist with the implementation of new services. Help in the monitoring and maintaining of backup system. Support in maintenance of system user IDs, permission and e-mail, for both in premise and cloud based applications. Contributes to IT system maintenance beyond end users. Conditions of Employment Must pass a pre-employment drug test, random drug test thereafter in accordance with the published policy of Doyon Utilities. Must have a valid driver's license issued by the State of Alaska. Must be eligible to work on a military installation in Alaska. Eligibility to work on a military installation includes compliance with Department of Defense mandates with respect to employee background and health directives. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Information Technology Preferred. 3 years of specialized experience in IT or related field Required. Strong attention to detail (High proficiency) Strong verbal and written communication skills. (High proficiency) Experience supporting end users with varying degrees of technical ability. SharePoint experience is preferred. Strong multitasking and organizational skills (High proficiency) Exceptional customer service skills. (High proficiency) Possess strong interpersonal skills. (High proficiency) Ability to manage multiple priorities and problem solve under pressure. Excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to think creatively and adapt while working a wide range of complex projects. Experience in setup and maintenance of conference room and a training lab is preferred. Knowledge of Windows end user operating systems and troubleshooting. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. CompTIA Security+ Certification Required within one year.
