IT Support Technician

Role Overview: The IT Support Technician is an operational technical support role focused on providing comprehensive IT assistance across the organization. This position is responsible for day-to-day technical support, system maintenance, and user assistance. The role combines hands-on technical work with user training and documentation, ensuring smooth operation of IT systems and positive user experiences. Key Responsibilities: + Identify and initiate resolutions to user problems and concerns associated with IT equipment and software. + Plan and coordinate the purchase, installation and implementation of IT equipment and software according to department standards and procedures. + Perform hardware and software installations, configurations and updates as needed. + Perform basic network troubleshooting. + Verify daily and monthly system backups. + Maintain IT software and equipment registration and inventory to provide upgrades as necessary and ensure appropriate security levels are maintained. + Uphold the enterprise policy guidelines as well as recommend new and improved guidelines to ensure compatibility and better service for all users. + Maintain current technical expertise in the rapidly changing area of IT and utilize state-of-the-art techniques when implementing IT solutions. + Recognize and identify potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion. + Fulfill departmental requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personnel illness, vacation or education. + Maintain a positive working relationship with all departments to optimize working relationships and communication. + Assist users with company-approved AI tools and platforms + Support implementation of AI-enhanced help desk solutions + Participates in the team’s weekend on-call rotation, providing critical technical support and emergency response outside standard business hours + All other duties, as assigned. Required Experience: The Ideal Candidate Will Have: + An Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field is required and 2 years of previous experience in IT. + Software troubleshooting for Microsoft Windows including system restore, driver rollback, safe mode, UEFI/BIOS, regedit, and event viewer. + Software troubleshooting for Microsoft Office and various other business programs. + Experience repairing, installing, and setting up equipment including laptops, desktops, printers and scanners. + Experience with Intermec/Honeywell handheld barcode scanners. + Experience with Zebra industrial printers + Networking knowledge and troubleshooting. + Network Cable Management + CompTIA A+ Certification + Ability to work successfully with limited supervision + Excellent customer service skills + Strong written and oral communication skills Keyword: IT Support Technician From: Bard Manufacturing
