The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.
Role PurposeThe IT Support Technician will be responsible for providing onsite and remote support for end-users at Corning’s Keller plant, as well as the offices in Plano and Austin, Texas. This role performs technical duties and activities within prescribed time frames in the manufacturing environment supporting a range of equipment including PCs, printers, servers, limited network/RF support, etc
Key Responsibilities Responsible for the acquisition, installation, and maintenance of hardware and software technology. Responds to requests and incident tickets for first level support to users (onsite and remote) on any IT related matter. Escalation to levels 2 and 3 when applicable. Management of spares and assets inventory in the Inventory management tool Training of end-users and communication on Corporate IT initiatives, best practices or any other relevant IT-related topics. Participation in any plant IT-related activities on offices and manufacturing systems. Proposes and implements solutions to improve and solve routine problems. Supports new hires onboarding by introducing them to Corning hardware, software and IT policies. Follows standard operating procedures. Maintains and ensures confidentiality of information / materials. Gives periodic status reports in written and verbal formats. Always focused on safety. Experiences/Education - Required Associate’s degree in IT-related field preferred or High school diploma with equivalent years of experience in a similar role. Relevant certifications a plus 3+ years’ experience in an IT support role working with end-users 3+ years’ experience working with computer hardware and software, including installation and maintenance Technical knowledge of computer hardware, computer software, printers and peripheral equipment Advanced knowledge of LAN/WAN equipment and topology Advanced knowledge of Windows OS and MS Suite Experiences/Education - Desired General knowledge of mobile technology. General knowledge of “ticketing systems” (ServiceNow) Effective organization, and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities Excellent communications, interpersonal and influencing skills Must be a self-starter, able to work in team environment and motivate others

The range for this position is $47,200.00 - $64,900.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
