IT System Administrator

Essential Functions: What you’ll do: + Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and networks. + Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality. + Provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues promptly. + Perform routine system maintenance tasks, including updates, and patches. + Assist in the management of user accounts, permissions, and access rights. + Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, processes, and procedures. + Collaborate with senior IT staff on various projects and initiatives. + Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies. + Work outside of regular business hours as needed + Be on call one week per month for after-hours support, Monday to Friday, from 5 PM to 9 PM Eastern Time + Be available for occasional travel within a 2-3 hour radius around the GTA to support other locations + Supports additional projects and assignments as required. Qualifications: What you’ll need to be successful + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. + Basic understanding of network and system administration concepts. + Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and common software applications. + Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges. + Experience with virtualization technologies, firewalls + Knowledge of cloud services (Office 365). + Basic scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash). + Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices.
