As a Windows/Linux System Infrastructure Engineer at Micron, you will support the acquisition, installation, maintenance, and administration of Micron’s core computing environment (servers, storage, operating systems, and infrastructure). These systems are host platforms for Micron’s management, file, print, database, remote access, mail, web, manufacturing, and application (client/server) systems.
You will work regularly with Micron’s Business Units to ensure solutions meet or exceed business requirements. You will be encouraged to suggest, promote, and leverage published standards to minimize environmental complexity and ensure regulatory as well as license compliance. You will have the opportunity to travel to other Micron sites as well as technology conferences and trainings.
Responsibilities:
Define, design, and implement core system hardware and operating system solutions and maintain systems.
Support day-to-day operations and customer support.
Ensure security, availability, performance, interoperability, and reliability of Micron’s core computing resources.
Continually work to improve operations.
Provide system security and access.
Evolve the computing environment to meet future demands.
Participate in on-call 24/7 support rotations.
Requirements:
Master’s/Bachelor’s Degree with good Honors in any Computer Science/Engineering field
Good interpersonal skills.
Minimum 3 years of experience, and a good solid grasp of the following:
Network architectures, TCP/IP, name resolution and directory services.
Support acquisition, installation, maintenance, and administration of large enterprise SAN, NAS & enterprise Backup environment.
Windows/Linux Server Operating System and their relevant tools to handle them.
Enterprise-class server hardware technologies demonstrated in a data center.
Desired Skills:
Architecture and support for enterprise-class server hardware technologies (i.e., Nutanix Hyperconverged Infrastructure)
Red Hat Cluster
Red Hat Openshift
SAN & NAS Storage
Python or other scripting languages
