Role Summary:

The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the daily operability of the systems in the data center, across the network, and outsourced. Utilizing specialized technical knowledge, the incumbent will ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

 

What You Will Be Doing: Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of data center hardware and software. Perform configuration changes, conduct log analysis, system hardening, manage and maintain server endpoint security compliance. Ensure Enterprise System and services are configured and deployed in a fault-tolerant and highly available manner with backups that are tested to ensure business objectives are met. Ensure patching is being performed weekly in accordance with our established patch management program. Assist with the management of Active Directory and Group Policy. Develop scripts or alternative methods to automate routine tasks and create operational efficiencies including correcting user errors and system anomalies. Document procedures, configurations, back-up, and recovery instructions then create monitors, alerts and performance reports based off documented requirements. Support the application, products, and development teams throughout project lifecycles. Ensure leadership and application owners are kept appraise at all times of operational impacts and risks. Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases. Work closely with Information Security to ensure that industry best-practices regarding enterprise infrastructure and systems are being applied and comply with state and federal laws and regulations.

 

About You: Exceptional knowledge of the functionality, maintenance, and troubleshooting methodology related to the infrastructure and related components. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Knowledge of troubleshooting skills, techniques, and tools. Knowledge of IT technologies, processes, and procedures. Knowledge of RHEL operating system, Windows OS, networking, and FTP protocols. Strong organizational skills and the ability to participate in projects related to infrastructure, networking and monitoring systems. Ability to multitask with multiple projects and assignments. Demonstrate effective communication, both verbally and in writing. Working knowledge of other IT technologies, processes, and procedures is highly desirable.
