Overview of the role:

Hartford Funds is seeking a flexible, motivated Systems Analyst who is excited by a fast moving, dynamic environment that often requires wearing multiple hats.   This role will be focused on critical initiatives within the Finance & Accounting teams.   The ideal candidate will have advanced technical skills, proven experience owning efforts (e.g., project management) and a strong desire to work with and learn the business.  Candidates who are willing and eager to take on a variety of opportunities within our ever-evolving team will be best suited for this key role.

Responsibilities:

Serve as the technical bridge between core IT resources and the Finance business teams.Gather & document requirements for various types of projects , primarily data focusedProduce necessary project artifacts (e.g., use cases, technical specs, source to target mapping documents, report requirements, etc.)Work closely with the business units to gain a deep understanding of their processes and translate their needs into technical requirements that can be efficiently consumed by the development team(s)  Build and maintain critical flows using Alteryx tool to integrate data sets between external dbs (e.g. Snowflake), finance applications (Anaplan) and other systems or manual datasetsWork closely with the IT Project Manager dedicated to Finance efforts.   These roles will work together to support the business & execute on key initiativesBe involved in all phases of the SDLC, including Requirements Definition and Documentation, Systems Analysis and Design, System Integration, User Acceptance Testing, and Deployment CoordinationIdentify candidate business processes for re-design, prototype potential solutions, provide trade-off information and suggest a recommended course of action. Identify the modifications to the automated processes.Create written communication materials that effectively summarize findings and support recommendationsTranslate data results into written reports, tables, graphs, and charts to convey information to management

Qualifications:

5+ years’ experience in a BA role, documenting business & technical requirementsData warehouse experience is requiredCandidate should be equally comfortable interacting with both technical and business resourcesProven ability to participate in or manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think both from a business and technology standpointCandidate should be self-motivated and thrive in a collaborative team environment, but also has the drive & discipline to work independentlyStrong communication skills; ability to confidently and efficiently communicate both verbally and in writingSome experience as a product owner (or similar role) or strong desire to OWN efforts (sometimes requiring playing multiple roles, such as product owner, BA, PM, tester, etc.)Strong time management and organizational skills critical to successfully execute on multiple, parallel initiativesVery proficient at Word and Excel and proven ability to learn new software toolsSignificant Alteryx experience is preferredExperience working with the Anaplan system  preferredExpertise and fluency in SQL language is requiredExperience gathering requirements on ETL projects requiredExperience working with system vendors preferredProven experience with Tableau preferred

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$100,000 - $135,000
