Northrop Grumman IT Solutions team located in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Melbourne, FL.
This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4, depending on the candidate’s education and experience.
The selected candidate will interface and lead technical discussions with management, project managers, enterprise architects, technical specialists and the customer on a regular basis. The system engineer is the technical lead responsible for the project’s overall system design.
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels to include concept/scope, requirements, design, verification and validation, and transition to production. Performs functional and schedules analysis, trade studies, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements, taking into consideration technical, schedule and cost constraints into optimal solutions for our customers.
The selected candidate will possess good interpersonal, communications and leadership skills and must be able to clearly articulate analysis results to colleagues, management, and customers.
The selected candidate will Possess an active DOD Secret or higher security clearance or Active DOD within the last 24 months and must be able to obtain a Top-Secret clearance. Further, the candidate’s clearance must be able to meet the government customer’s criteria for working on their program.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities:
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specificationsDesign and Structure
Determine high level business requirements in conjunction with customer and manage specifications throughout the systems lifecycleConduct requirements elicitation, definition, systems analysis and designArchitect definition, interface and context diagram documentationIdentify compute and storage requirements to support customer Provide and verify installation diagrams or models for compute and storage facilities Provide As-Is and To-Be technical designs and assessments, perform Gap analysis Identify technology roadmaps to reduce program execution costs (as needed)Define Disaster and Recovery requirements and implementation (as needed)Implementation and Execution
Establish test plans, requirements traceability & transition to production artifactsEnsure system validation is performed against requirements Execute on system design for Data Center Architecture & DesignExecute on system design for Network Architecture & Design to include supplier integration, extranet design and implementationExecute on system design for application and data Integration design & architectureExecute on security technologies to ensure policy compliance Manage and track status of projects, metrics, schedules and prepare status reports; and ensure remediation and ongoing compliance goals are metBasic Qualifications for a level 3 (T03):
Must have an active DOD Secret or higher security clearance or Active within the last 24 months and must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance. Further, the candidate’s clearance must be able to meet the government customer’s criteria for working on their program.Must possess 5 years of IT Project Management, System Engineering or related IT experience with a Bachelors degree in a STEM or Business focused discipline; also acceptable is 3 years of IT Systems/IT Project Management experience with a related Masters; or 0 years of experience with a relevant PHD. In lieu of the education requirement, 9 years of relevant IT experience with at least 4 years in System Engineering.Basic Qualifications for level 4 (T04):
Must have an active DOD Secret or higher security clearance or Active within the last 24 months and must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance. Further, the candidate’s clearance must be able to meet the government customer’s criteria for working on their program.Must possess 8 years of IT Project Management, System Engineering or related IT experience with a BS degree in a STEM or Business focused discipline; also acceptable is 6 years or experience with a related Masters; or 3 years with PHD. In lieu of the education requirement, 12 years of relevant IT experience with at least 4 years in System Engineering.Preferred Qualifications:

VirtualizationData Center designs and solutions, including on-premises and co-location solutions.Data Center Backup overall designSoftware as a serviceCloud technologiesSalary Range: $92,600.00 - $139,000.00Salary Range 2: $114,900.00 - $172,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
