The **IT Systems Engineer** is responsible for driving technological innovation through regularly occurring research and technology assessments. The role will research new technologies and develop roadmaps for technology replacement continually. This position will have primary responsibility for the creation and maintenance of all relevant documentation. **Responsibilities** + Plan, design, develop, evaluate, and test advanced systems engineering and administration functions for a complex technological ecosystem comprised of VMware (ESXi), Nutanix, Windows Server 2003-2019, and Active Directory (AD/DS, AD/CS, and AD/FS). + Provide technical support in the engineering, implementation, management, and maintenance of all technologies managed by the Infrastructure and IT Services Team. + Plan and migrate on premise servers to MS Azure or AWS as needed and manage resources appropriately to maintain cost, performance, and cloud efficiencies. + Oversee on-premises/colocation VMWare and Nutanix environment, monitor resource and report resources utilization as well as provision virtual servers as needed for company related projects. + Oversee company backups and participate in company DR planning. + Assist in administering Proof Point, Okta, and various other vendors within the ecosystem. + Assist with MSSQL Database and other database-related support. + Perform Nutanix Cluster Configuration, Hypervisor Integration with VMware ESXi 6.5, Integrated Data Protection, Cluster Architecture and Maintenance, Monitoring, and troubleshooting – Prism Pro, Health Checks. + Act as a mentor and coach to peers. + Administer, maintain and update corporate backups to meet Compliance and DR best practice policies and standards. **Qualifications** **Education & Experience** + **Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.** + **3 or more years of experience in a Systems Engineer role, required.** + **5 or more years of relevant IT experience, required.** + **Experience in VMWare vSphere 6.0+ required.** + **Experience in Nutanix required.** + **Within the Windows Server and Nutanix environment, the employee will be expected to be proficient in deploying common services, including SQL Clusters, File Services, and Web Services required.** + **Able to write Visual Basic, PowerShell scripts, and/or Python scripts to perform administrative tasks and automation required.** + **O365 Administration, Veeam Backup experience preferred.** + **Strong Azure and/or AWS management and architectural experience preferred.** + **Experience in working in a hybrid/on premise environment preferred.** + **Previous project management experience preferred.** + **Okta Identity Management experience preferred.** + **Meraki and Cisco Network Experience preferred.** + **MSSQL, MySQL and other Database experience preferred.** Farmer Brothers is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Prohibits Discrimination and Harassment of Any Kind.
