IT Tech - Software Manager – Blazer Access

**Purpose and Scope:**
Provide technical services required to maintain, operate, and support unclassified and classified and standalone/closed communication systems. Maintains and updates software licenses and a software inventory for all software used. This position is in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and is located at Ascension Island Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF).
**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Ensure manufacturer licenses, warranties, and agreements on all software and hardware are current, transferable and not voided.
+ Provide maintenance and support to control entire asset life cycle, from procurement to retirement, which includes applications, license agreements and software upgrades.
+ Utilize common practices for ordering assets, tracking orders and assets and tagging the assets.
+ Support application installation, operations, customer support, maintenance, sustainment, and configuration control, to include the procurement of supporting software licenses.
+ Install, maintain network baseline hardware and software configuration, and perform network hardware/software planning, design, test, remove and proper disposal incorporating Information Protection (IP) as required. To be performed on items such as: Routers and switches, modems, media converters, wireless access points, wireless air monitors, multiplexers, network management systems and authentication servers.
+ Operate and maintain (O&M) at the Organizational Level the High Frequency (HF) Global Communications System (HFGCS) scope command and antennas at AAAF IAW technical orders, commercial manuals, and manufacturer bulletins.
+ Perform assessments, surveys, engineering support, installations, replacements (scheduled and unscheduled), troubleshooting, ticket escalation, outage resolution, maintain, operate and support of all the virtual and physical hardware and software network devices and physical infrastructure.
+ Install, configure, test, maintain, dismantle and turn in voice, data, and video Communication networks—both hardware and software.
+ Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and restore service to include fiber optics, coaxial and copper (twisted pair) broadband and baseband Ethernet, wireless technology & LANs and leased data circuits for wide area networking and telecommunications including VoIP and videoconferencing.
+ Provide technical services and hands-on configuration of IT and technical services on all seven layers of the Open System Interconnect model to include systems as needed.
**Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:**
+ Must have a minimum of 3 years prior experience managing software as described above.
+ Must be able to read and interpret all applicable technical data.
+ Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET level US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
+ Solid communications skills, strong interpersonal skills.
+ Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team.
+ Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
+ Candidate must be a USN in order to fill the position.
+ Possess a valid state issued driver’s license and passport.
+ Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
+ Prior overseas government contracting experience preferred.
+ Although not required, it is preferred that the candidate be familiar with the US Air Force system known as Blazer.
**Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:**
+ Must be able to meet the physical requirements dictated by project requirements.
+ Ability to work in harsh working conditions, outdoors, and/or in extreme temperatures.
+ Must be available to work outside the normal schedule if the need arises.
+ Must be able to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds and carry heavy objects routinely.
+ Ability to climb, crawl, crouch, bend, stand for long periods, reach above shoulder level, extend arms at awkward angles, lift, and carry objects.
+ Must be able to be alert for shifts of at least eight (8) hours.
+ Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
+ Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
