Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. The Division of Welfare and Supportive services is currently recruiting for an IT Technician 6 (ITT6) position, located in Carson City. The ITT6 will act as a junior system administrator and assist other system administrators with projects and daily duties. This position is also responsible for the basic installation, configuration, and patching of Windows and Linux servers primarily in a VMware environment. Other duties will include web server content updates, basic network troubleshooting, system monitoring using a variety of tools, and physical hardware installation; routine network and server hardware checks; establish system access using an account access and authorization tool; ensure compliance with and validate required security hardening setting on servers and network equipment. Special Requirements Working evenings, weekends and/or holidays is required. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.
