Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as a point of contact and liaison on behalf of Wake County IT and Public Safety with various IT vendors.
Provision and support CradlePoint mobile gateways.
Provide customer consultation research and support for the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Automatic Vehicle Locator (AVL) hardware.
Provide set up and training support on hardware to end users and other support staff.
Create, complete, test and maintain complex images.
Work in partnership with the technical engineers at the Raleigh-Wake 911 Center for the management of the Wake County CAD devices.
Work in partnership with external IT vendors for application upgrades, enhancements, troubleshooting issues, etc.
Coordinate and manage the 24x7x365 endpoint device support for various hardware. Provide ancillary application support.
Install, test, and support all aspects of network connectivity for the endpoint devices, NetMotion & Cisco AnyConnect endpoint related VPN applications.
Provide support for local and network printers, multi-function devices for your customer base at various Wake County facilities. Provide basic support for audio visual equipment.
Perform routine technology refreshes on all supported hardware and applications.

Day to Day:
This position will primarily be involved in a large-scale project performing a technology refresh on all Wake County ambulances and vehicles. This involves swapping out CradlePoint mobile gateways, tablet docking stations, and performing various other technology updates. This position will be working with both Wake County staff and contracted vendors. Local travel to various Wake County public safety facilities is required for this position.

This position will be assisting in the systems administration work for Wake County EMS. This involves supporting endpoint hardware, Computer Aided Dispatch hardware & automatic vehicle location hardware and vehicle gateways, as well as some ancillary support for reporting applications within various fire departments within Wake County. This position will have ongoing support duties as well as serving in special projects as assigned.
