Production support  AppDev experience in a medium to large distributed Unix OS Financial industry SOLR is a big plus

Required Skills & Work Experience: 

Java, Web Services and API Calls, JavaScript, HTML, XML, JASON. Able to read/write code Relational database (anyone): DB2, SYBASE, MS SQL Server. Able to read/write medium to complex SQL Queries Operating Systems Administration with UNIX/Linux, proficiency with scripting such as Python/Pearl/Shell, process management, file permissions, searching, compression, etc.  App Web Servers admin management experience w/ Jetty, Tomcat and IIS analyzing Logs and Events files.  Windows and Web Servers administration and troubleshooting experience, analyzing Logs and Event Files via Splunk and unix/linux command line Scheduling Tools: Autosys, TWS, Win Scheduler, etc. Monitoring Tools: App Dynamics, Splunk, ExtraHop, CheckNanny, WatchTower, Window deploy, Team city, Sockeye  Excellent Communication skills: verbal and written, good presentation experience, ability to work at different time zones, non-conventional hours with geographically dispersed teams

Big Pluses:

Big Data: Hadoop, or any other HDFS  Spark/Hive Data Analytics

Responsibilities you would expect the Subcon to shoulder and execute*:

Provide technical Hands - On support for the horizontal SOLR platform troubleshooting and diagnosing issues Work closely with consumers of data as well as source systems owners to address all issues. Act as an escalation point for various teams such as Level 1 support, L2 Incident management, L3-DEV, and/or other system owners as appropriate. Provide on-call coverage as required. Fault finding based on problem tickets and direct escalation from customers. Liaison for change and incident review. Work with the business and technology teams to review functional and technical specifications. Participate in the implementation and rollout of new services and products. Analyze and Identify production support patterns, alerts and monitoring gaps to provide solutions, standards and best practices Document, implement and adhere to operational and technical standards, best practices, processes, and procedures (problem/change/release/request management/service/time reporting) Log Tickets and outages to track work flow. Assist with identifying and implementing areas for improvement within existing operational and technical processes and maintain related documentation. Partner with various other IT groups such as Enterprise Infrastructure, SecArch and DPRM to implement solutions such as onboarding Runbook Automation workflows, App-D, etc. Track and provide regular progress updates and dashboard reporting into team’s Jive, Twiki, Sharepoint sites. Lead training sessions. Perform software decommission, installation, upgrades in accordance with firm Change Control Procedures. NEED - JAVA APPLICATION SUPPORT DEVELOPER/ENGINEER
