Summary:

Sr Data Analyst develops advanced models and tools, conducts statistical analyses, evaluates large data sets, and creates tailored models and dashboards. This role will be instrumental in the creation of a reliable and scalable infrastructure for ongoing reporting and analytics. You will be structuring ambiguous problems and designing analytics across various disciplines, resulting in actionable recommendations ranging from capacity planning and management, engineering improvements to organizational process optimization, customer servicing trending, and competitive research. You will complete life cycle data generation, outline critical information, analyze business procedures, and recommend specific types of data that can be used to improve upon them. Candidate should be well versed on industry-leading concepts and theories, with a strong understanding of how to deploy the proper solution in a given situation. Your work will be instrumental to achieving our mission of making informed decisions using the millions of data points gathered each day.

Detailed Job Description:

Manage multiple projects and proactively communicates issues, priorities, and objectives Partner with subject matter experts to document and translate business requirements into technical requirements Enable decision-making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources to present it in a digestible and actionable format Analyze large data sets using database query and visualization tools Provide technical expertise in extracting, integrating, and analyzing critical data Anticipate, identify, structure, and solve critical problems Design and develop key performance metrics and indicators using standardized and custom reports Perform ad hoc analysis to quickly solve time-sensitive operational issues and business cases

Qualifications:

Analytical thinking spot trends and anomalies within statistical data, to include using reporting and statistics tools. High proficiency in classical statistical and mathematical modeling methods Mathematics skills good understanding of basic accounting/financial practices, statistical analysis techniques, capacity planning strategies, forecasting algorithms, and other similar math skills Computer skills work with various software packages, from reporting tools to statistical applications. Strong job candidates will need to be able to quickly pick up new computer programs and use them efficiently Report writing skills have experience with preparing reports for multiple levels of the organization Organization skills ability to stay organized while working in dynamic environment where numerous projects occur at the same time is a must. Experience with project management tools and methodologies required. Team collaboration strong communication and interpersonal skills are needed to work as part of a team, coordinating closely with other departments within a company. Possess a thorough understanding of how to use these types of tools properly:o Statistical and analytical tools (e.g., Athena/Presto, R, SAS, Python, Microsoft Power BI, Excel, Access, general database querying - SQL / MYSQL / ORACLE)o Data visualization and presentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Power Point, Visio, SharePoint)o Business Intelligence or machine learning techniques an tools (e.g., Netezza, OBIEE, Watson Explorer)o Programming tools (e.g., XML, JavaScript, ETL frameworks) Familiar with a diverse set of tools and languages such as Spark, RDBMS, Kafka, Scala, R. Knowledge of Field Operations processes, procedures, systems and daily required functions 2+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or related quantitative research functions or algorithmics 3+ years financial services industry experience with focus on Capacity Planning and or Operations Management 3+ yeas reporting, analytics, or business intelligence experience
