Detailed Job Description:

Analyzes functional business applications and design specifications. Develops and prepares computer systems requirements and develops procedures to process data. Analyzes functional problems and determines techniques and requirements most feasible for processing the data. Prepares definition of functional problems and makes recommendations for equipment and/ or software to deliver solutions. Develops analytical reports or other products. Translate complex business, functional and technical requirements into custom design and development of Microsoft Power Platform-based applications. Perform analysis, design, development, testing, and debugging of custom developed Microsoft Power Platform-based applications. Support projects in development plans, estimation, and code and design reviews. Self-motivated, problem solver with decision-making skills.

Technical Requirements:

Build sustainable data pipelines using Power BI dataflows.

Make connections to a variety of disparate data sources with dataflows including SharePoint online, on-prem databases, and web connections with APIs. Develop dataflow using best practices including layered architecture, leveraging enhanced compute engine, performant joins, linked tables, incremental refresh and error handling with try...otherwise Write complex SQL queries for relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Write custom M functions where out-of-the-box functions are not sufficient.

Build Power BI datasets, dashboards, and paginated reports

Build models according to best practice including star and snowflake schemas, Use of relationship modeling DAX functions including but not limited to: RELATED, RELATEDTABLE, USERELATIONSHIP, CROSSFILTER Implement Row Level Security Build complex DAX functions to create measures, calculated columns, and new tables Build a variety of out-of-the-box and custom visualizations. Provide SME guidance on what visualizations to meet business requirements Optimize new and existing models and provide best practice guidance including use of the performance analyzer. Troubleshoot error messages and perform testing to ensure dashboards are functional.

Power BI Online Service

Push reports from Power BI desktop to the Power BI service Use Power BI data gateways and schedule refreshes. Troubleshoot refresh error messages Administer workspaces including permissions and sensitivity labels. Learn new features as they become available such as deployment pipelines and streaming dataflows.

Power BI Report Builder

Ability to create and maintain various reports, especially paginated reports, in Power BI Report Builder

Power Automate

Create Power Automate Flows that access data from SharePoint Online Lists and Excel files Familiar with Power Automate expressions and dynamic content Debug Power Automate Flows that may be failing for various reasons

Additional Skills

Significant subject matter expertise in Microsoft O365 Applications, especially Excel Demonstrate deep industry knowledge of Microsoft Power Apps and SharePoint Online is a plus. Knowledge of HTML especially tables, formatting, and style Use of JIRA for project management

Certification

DA-100 Power BI Data Analyst Associate or PL-300: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst (preferred)
