Audio Visual (AV) Onsite Engineer

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Position Overview:  The Audio Visual (AV) Onsite Engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting AV systems in corporate conference rooms, executive boardrooms, and event spaces. This role requires expertise in troubleshooting, configuring, and optimizing AV hardware and software to ensure seamless operation. Additionally, the engineer will provide high-level event support, coordinating with stakeholders to execute live and virtual events efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Conference Room & AV Infrastructure Support:

· Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair AV systems, including projectors, displays, microphones, speakers, cameras, and control systems (e.g., Crestron, Liteware, QSYS).

· Ensure all conference room AV equipment is fully functional and operational before scheduled meetings.

· Provide real-time support for high-profile meetings, including executive video conferences.

· Monitor and proactively address AV hardware/software performance issues.

· Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on AV systems.

· Update and manage AV firmware, drivers, and software patches.

· Manage and maintain AV network infrastructure, including video-over-IP and Dante-based audio networks.

Event & Meeting Support:

· Provide onsite AV support for corporate meetings, town halls, executive briefings, and special events.

· Operate and manage live streaming platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams and Zoom solutions).

· Set up and operate AV equipment, including microphones, speakers, video walls, PTZ cameras, and recording devices.

· Collaborate with event coordinators, IT teams, and executive staff to ensure flawless event execution.

· Provide rapid troubleshooting during live events to mitigate disruptions.

User Training & Documentation:

· Create and update AV system documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.

· Conduct training sessions for end-users on AV technology and best practices.

· Provide executive-level white-glove support and training for board members and C-suite staff.

Project Support & System Upgrades:

· Assist in the planning and execution of AV system upgrades, new deployments, and room integrations.

· Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and IT teams on new AV installations and improvements.

· Participate in system design discussions to enhance AV capabilities across corporate facilities.

Inventory & Asset Management:

· Maintain an inventory of AV equipment, spare parts, and consumables.

· Track and manage AV assets using asset management tools.

· Ensure all AV components are labeled and accounted for within corporate facilities.

Basic Qualifications:

· 5+ years of hands-on experience in AV support, including conference rooms and live event production.

· Expert knowledge of AV control systems (Crestron, Liteware, QSYS) and video conferencing platforms (Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom, Webex, Google Meet).

· Strong troubleshooting skills for AV hardware (projectors, digital signage, speakers, microphones, cameras, switchers, DSPs, etc.).

· Experience with enterprise AV networking, including AV-over-IP solutions and Dante audio.

· Familiarity with cloud-based collaboration tools, streaming solutions, and video production workflows.

· Ability to operate and troubleshoot professional audio and video equipment under high-pressure scenarios.

· Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to interact with executives and non-technical users.

· Knowledge of IT networking principles (IP addressing, VLANs, firewalls) related to AV solutions.

· Certifications such as CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, or vendor-specific certifications (Crestron, Extron, Dante, AVIXA) are a plus.

· Strong customer support skills and a passion for helping others.

· Good analytic skills to identify and assess trends and performance metrics, enabling data-driven decision-making.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Suite products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Work Environment & Expectations:

· Onsite presence required at corporate offices during business hours.

· Flexibility for early morning, late evening, and weekend event support as needed.

· Ability to lift and transport AV equipment up to 50 lbs.

· May require travel between corporate locations for AV support.

Reporting & Collaboration:

· Reports to Senior IT Management.

· Works closely with IT, Facilities, and Event teams.

· Liaise with vendors and service providers for equipment procurement and maintenance.

· System Uptime: Maintaining 99% or higher operational uptime of AV systems.

· Response Time: Rapid response and resolution of AV issues within SLA timelines.

· Event Success Rate: Strive to achieve 100% flawless execution of scheduled corporate events and meetings.

· User Satisfaction: Positive feedback from end-users and executives on AV support and training.

· Project Completion: On-time delivery of AV system upgrades and new installations.

Minimum Salary: $96,000.00

Maximum Salary:$138,000.00

The pay range for this position is expected to be between $96,000.00 and $138,000.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
