We are looking for a person who will be able to play the role of a Scrum Master/ Agile Coach but will also be able to execute client onboarding/ activation tasks for our Scrum Team working on Spyglass – internally built observability platform.

The general expectation from an Activation Leader is to gather detailed client requirements, monitor progress on work deliverables and work closely with Product Owner on addressing issues or risks. Scrum Master/ Agile Coach piece of the role is to facilitate implementation of the right Scrum practices, propose improvements to the current Team’s way of work to ensure Scrum is followed effectively.

Activation Leader Responsibilities

1.Acting as a Spyglass Activation Leader for platform’s internal clients:

Help gather and clarify client functional and non-functional requirements for a FY quarter at the start of the pre-PI Planning cycleEnsure Scrum Development Team is clear on the scope of work and able to estimate the effort behind the tasksManage stakeholder expectations through clear communication of Spyglass commitments shared at the PI Planning session (Spyglass Product Owner to support as needed)Lead regular, weekly drumbeat sessions with the clients to check on the progress of deliverables locked for each FY quarterSend out weekly status emails to relevant stakeholders communicating on work progress, risks, blockers, and help neededCollaborate with Product Owner on conflicts, disagreements or re-prioritization needs flagged by the clients.

2. Support Product Owner with PI Planning cycle preparation:

Work closely with Spyglass Product Owner on the quarterly requirements scope gathering and estimating with Spyglass Dev TeamTranslating scope locked for the quarter into accurate ADO Features and User Stories for further refinement effort (point 2) below).

Scrum Master Responsibilities

1. Facilitate Scrum events:

Conduct daily stand-up meetings (“Daily Scrums”) to keep the team aligned on the objectives and monitor work progressionAssist with Sprint Planning meetings to ensure realistic commitments and prevent scope creepLead Backlog refinement sessions' prework related to having timely created and accurately described User Stories that are ready for estimatesLead Sprint Retrospective sessions, gather feedback from the Agile Team members, and propose documented improvements to the current way of work (min. twice per month)Conduct Sprint Review sessions where increment is presented to the entire Scrum team and its stakeholders.

2. Administer Product Backlog in ADO:

Collaborate with P&G Engineering Team and Scrum Dev Team on defining “Definition of Done” criteria that Product User Stories will need to adhere toEnsure all Features aligned for each PI Planning Cycle are accurately reflected in ADO and are linked to their relevant User Stories locked for the FY quarterEnsure all User Stories in ADO backlog have detailed descriptions, acceptance criteria, are properly groomed for 2-week-long sprints and are estimated by Scrum Dev Team

3. Support Sprints and PI progression:

prepare mid-Sprint burndown chart showing progress towards reaching Sprint Goal and flag risks to the Product Owner/Managerwork closely with Scrum Product Owner on identified blockers with Spring Backlog progressionensure all User Stories in the Sprint Backlog meet the acceptance criteria and definition of done before they are marked as completed.
