Key Responsibilities:

Functions in accordance with Brightli Operational Guidelines, and within his/her professional code of ethics.Within limits of experience, educational background, and Brightli time commitments, presents in public forums educational material to promote community understanding of mental health and to enhance community response to mental health problems.Carries a limited caseload, the size and nature of which is to be established with supervisory staff.According to Brightli guidelines, participates in staffing of clients to identify problems and establish goals and objectives for treatment and assumes management responsibilities for cases assigned.Participates in emergency services in order to provide rapid aid in cases of emotional crisis.Provides and/or coordinates a comprehensive follow-up to all clients for whom he/she has been responsible.Participates in and contributes to the various staff development activities of Brightli.Is sensitive and responsible to management needs, such as data collection, program evaluation, development of grant applications, maintenance of various contracts for services, etc.Participates in all required meetings.Regularly participates in evaluation of self and assigned staff according to Brightli Operational Guidelines.Is responsive to all Quality Assurance procedures of Brightli, cooperates with utilization review procedures, and follows established procedures, rules and regulations of the Clinical Records Department.Performs other special functions as may, from time to time, be outlined and attached hereto.

Role Specific Responsibilities:

Hold regularly scheduled individual supervisory sessions and team meetings with supervisees, who must number no more than seven (7) FTE Community Support Specialists.Review, in detail, client situations and necessary interventions on both a regular and an as needed basis.Assist supervisees in identification of referral needs.Review all critical intervention plans and situations in which plans are implemented; participate in monthly case reviews of critical interventions.Assist supervisees in the effective management of their time, including assuring that each is within the acceptable range of staff to client ratio and no greater than 20 child/youth nor greater than 30 adult Community Support clients.Be readily available to serve as back up to supervisees when supervisees are unavailable (due to being with other clients, sickness, vacation, etc.) or in need of additional expertise.Become involved in direct crisis intervention during regular business hours and as needed on a call down basis after hours or on weekends.Accompany CS specialists to see clients at their place of residence at time of initial CS home visit and on a periodic basis to assure worker safety and quality performance.Regularly review and monitor written documentation, providing corrective feedback and employee discipline as needed, to assure compliance with documentation requirements.Participate on the evaluation team during the intake (initial) and annual clinical evaluation (assessment) process, including documenting diagnoses, psychosocial histories, key clinical findings and recommendations and other aspects requiring the services of a QMHP.Participate in the quality assurance process both in presenting or facilitating the presenting of cases and situations and in giving input in cases and situations.Participate in the development of initial/master treatment plans (ITPs), ITP (annual) updates and 90-day reviews of ITP’s as needed.Report all critical incidents and staff responses to the supervising Assistant Director, Director of Specialized Adult Services or Director of Child/Youth Services.Facilitate the hiring of new staff as needed.Evaluate each staff member according to the performance evaluation guidelines.Make recommendations for proper credentialing of each supervisee.Facilitate the disciplinary process with supervisees as per guideline when needed.Document activities as required.Review all travel vouchers and certify that mileage claimed is reasonable and for medically necessary activities.

Experience and/or Education Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work or related field.A Missouri Chauffeur's Drivers License is suggested, but not required unless driving a Brightli owned vehicle. License as a Professional Counselor or Social Worker in Missouri is preferred.

Supervisory Requirements:

Communicate the strategic direction of the organization and encourage participation by all team members.Provide leadership and guidance to all aspects of the department.Take an active role in monitoring the identification, development, and execution of strategic objectives.Involve, as appropriate, all team members to achieve goals.Effectively communicate to team members any changes and newsworthy events within the department or company.Handle difficult team member situations directly, using appropriate discretion and Human Resource advice to show respect for the individualChampion change and effectively manage the implementation of new ideas.Reinforces team approach throughout functions; support and solicit input from team members at all levels within the company.

Employment Requirements:

Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect and fingerprint check.Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.

Physical Requirements:

ADA Consideration - Sedentary work:  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up the 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shift.

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
