Primary Responsibilities

In the role of ITS Project Manager, we'll count on you to:

Responsible for managing clients, projects and design teams, and leading design efforts for developing, updating, and reviewing design documents, technical specifications, and other project related documentationsResponsibilities include design and development of ITS architecture, systems engineering analysis, and plans, specifications, and estimates (PSE) development for freeway, arterial and transit ITS systems
ITS Master and Concept of Operations plansFreeway and arterial traffic management systemsITS Strategic Planning, Incident Management, and TMC/Operation activitiesActive traffic management systems for dynamic lane and speed managementFiber optic and wireless communications systems, and local area networksPower distribution systemsField equipment including CCTV cameras, dynamic message signs, RVSD’s, highway advisory radio, roadside weather information systems, weigh-in-motion systems, traffic signal interconnect, transit signal priority, programmable logic controllers and SCADA systems Perform all other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in EngineeringMinimum 7 years related experienceMinimum 2 years project management experiencePE licenseDemonstrated leadership skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Traffic, Electrical, or Civil EngineeringA minimum of 10 years related experience with ITS planning, design and implementation requiredPMP CertificationPTOE CertificationExperience managing/mentoring staff and providing technical leadershipExperience in electrical and communication network designFamiliarity with industry standards (NTCIP, NEMA, IEEE and NEC), and MDOT and/or other transportation agencies’ ITS standards and specifications is requiredFamiliarity with active traffic management systems equipment is desirableExperience in design-build projects is desirable
