Position involves the operation of ride on Zamboni style cleaning machine, and performing of custodial work in industrial areas and other facility areas as needed in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAll work will be performed with safety in mind of yourself, coworkers and equipment at all timesTo work within guidelines of the company rules and guidelines to comply with MIOSHA standardsTo maintain the equipment and work area in a clean and organized mannerSweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machinesPerforms activities in support of spill prevention, control and countermeasuresContains spills in all facility areasSometimes using ladders, dusts and washes walls, cleans ceilings and dusts and polishes light bulbs and fixturesMoves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areasRemoves waste from trash receptacles throughout facility and exterior areas and transports to exterior dumpstersRemove debris from outside areas of building and lotAssist with cleaning equipment, when neededUse cleaning supplies and equipmentNotify supervisors concerning need for repairs or additions to building operating systemsMay also sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasksMaintain the professional appearance of the industrial area and other facility areas as neededCollect and recycle oil and fluids from machinery throughout the facilityPerform routine maintenance and/or PM’s on equipment as assignedTo have the ability to work weekends and over time as requestedTo have clear and open communications with peers and supervision in an efficient and courteous wayAssist in other production areas as neededPerform other duties as assignedClean common areas including bathroom, locker room, cafeteria, offices, and plant floor.Operate mobile equipment (forklift, floor scrubber)

QualificationsPrior experience in janitorial roles including but not limited to custodial work, buildings and grounds, etc.Prior experience in a heavy manufacturing environmentAble to read, write and speak English without the aid of a translatorAble and willing to stand throughout a shiftOn-site attendance is an essential function of this positionWorking with safety in mind at all timeBasic mechanical skills and use of hand toolsBasic PC knowledge would be helpfulAbility to learn and retain information quicklyWalks, sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves continually during working hours. Is subject to lifting over 50 poundsAbility to understand written and verbal instructions

Education and Experience RequiredHigh school diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred
