JOB OBJECTIVE:
This position is responsible for assisting the Corps Officer(s) in ensuring the janitorial and maintenance needs of the Eureka Corps building are met.
A. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. All building janitorial services, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and cleaning of restrooms, classrooms, and chapel.
2. Maintaining cleaning supply stock and inventory according to assigned budget; informing Corps Officer of required ordering.
3. Setting and resetting of furniture for events and meetings as directed by Corps Officer.
4. Working with Corps Officer on proper set up of chapel for services each week.
5. Resupplying dispensers for soap, paper products, and cleanser as required.
6. Cleaning food storage and food preparation areas appropriately.
7. Maintaining all interior and exterior areas of the Corps in an attractive and professional manner.
8. Keeping a cleaning rotation schedule to make sure all areas are cleaned regularly.
9. Minor building maintenance such as changing light bulbs and other small repairs.
10. Complete food pickups on Tuesdays and Thursdays and /or as assigned
11. Maintain OSHA-required SDS records
12. Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
B. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. Ability to speak and write the English language proficiently is required.
3. Must possess good organizational skills, including multi-tasking and time management.
4. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials and information.
5. Ability to work with minimum supervision and be prepared to encounter a variety of assignments and timelines.
6. Ability to interact with coworkers and all members of the public in a positive manner.
7. Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
8. Valid California driver's license required
C. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
1. Must possess a valid California Class C Driver License, and the ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle or a non-CDL DOT Regulated vehicle.
2. Must be 21 years or older.
3. Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check to include a DOJ Livescan Fingerprint check.
4. Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training.
D. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
2. Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects
3. Ability to reach overhead
4. Ability to operate a telephone
5. Ability to lift up to 50-70 lbs. for positions that require lifting
6. Ability to operate a computer
7. Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information
