Job Title: Custodial Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Custodial Supervisor to oversee a team and perform a variety of custodial duties in accordance with established standards and procedures. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and hygiene within buildings, ensuring floors and surfaces are clean, and providing general maintenance support. The supervisor will cover three sites, providing guidance and oversight to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently.

ResponsibilitiesSweep, mop, and wash floors, and other surfaces inside buildings.Use light and heavy commercial-type floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas, spot clean daily, and shampoo when directed.Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.Wash windowsills, glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, both interior and exterior.Wash and spot clean interior walls as appropriate.Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily, following standard bathroom procedures including damp wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, dusting sills, and cleaning tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and floors.Monitor possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and report to supervisors.Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to designated collection areas for subsequent removal.Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers as per specifications.Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways/sidewalks as directed.Perform periodic work such as high dusting, leather and wood surface polishing, and wall washing.Perform any and all other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsExperience in housekeeping, environmental service, custodial, and janitorial duties.Proficiency in sanitizing, mopping, general maintenance, and cleaning.Supervisory skills with the ability to manage and provide guidance to a team.Knowledge of janitorial and facilities maintenance.Basic computer skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsSupervisory experience in a custodial or janitorial environment.Ability to oversee multiple sites and ensure tasks are completed efficiently.Experience in inventory management and ordering supplies.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment includes working across three locations with varying shifts: 1st shift from 6am until 2:30pm, 2nd shift from 2:30pm until 10pm, and plant hours from 9am until 5:30pm. The role involves using various cleaning and maintenance equipment and requires adherence to established standards and procedures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Huntsville, Alabama.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00
