January 2025 Retail Development Program – Information Security Analyst

Retail Development Program Overview

Belk offers talented and ambitious recent graduates the opportunity to work in multiple areas of our business. The Retail Development Program (RDP) is a fast-paced three-month program designed to prepare recent college graduates for a full-time role at Belk. We offer opportunities in several of our business functions including Merchandising, Planning, Supply Chain and more! The program focuses on key components to support your development: Education, Experience, Exposure, Innovation and Results.

The Retail Development Program – Planning will hire a class of program participants in our Charlotte, NC headquarters. RDPs are required to move and live in the Charlotte, NC Metro area for their first 12 months of employment at Belk.

Information Security – Position Summary

The Information Security Analyst will help to improve the systems and processes needed to detect and act on potential malicious behavior across the Belk environment. You will maintain and help develop our SIEM and alerting pipeline and the development of alerts and other detection capabilities. You should be a quick learner, a self-starter, and excited to hit the ground running. Your passion for security, detection, threat hunting, and creative problem-solving will be crucial to your success in this role.

On the Job

Work with the VP, CISO to focus on Data, Identity Access and Asset Management configurations

Assist with the project management installation of new programs as needed

Support Identity Access and Privilege Access Management

Monitoring an organization's IT infrastructure for threats and anomalies.

Detecting, assessing, and mitigating security threats.

Being the first responder in the battle against threats.

Researching new vulnerabilities.

Collaborate with team members and leadership to work on projects that provide process documentation and support while demonstrating effective communication with both IT and business partners

Document key processes and assist with updates on the programming documents

Provide outstanding service to the Belk teams while supporting a fast-paced business environment

Complete assigned ad hoc projects

Position Requirements

Bachelor's degree required; Strong academic performance in Cyber Security, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Security, Information Technology, Data Science

Must have a fundamental understanding of Data Security and Data Classification

Must have graduated within 6 months of December 2024 and able to start full time January 2025

Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by Belk for this position now or in the future 

Proven strong academic performer (GPA of 3.2 or higher preferred) 

Must have a fundamental understanding of Data Security and Data Classification

Leadership skills that include professional business ethics, confidence, and self-motivation

Strong business background with ability to analyze data and draw conclusions

Proficient in Excel and MS Office applications
