Java Dev (AWS, Microservices, Spring Boot) III (Contractor)
Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Java Developer (AWS, Microservices, Spring Boot) III located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The role will primarily involve managing and operating diverse Dev-Ops-related tools, processes, paradigms, and technologies in the creation and ongoing operation of our IoT Platform. You will be working closely with architects, technical product managers, and other team members in an agile environment, focusing on the creation of efficient, scalable, and highly available microservice-based architectures. Responsibilities: • Collaborate with engineering teams to build, debug, test, and manage the IoT platform's microservices-based cloud infrastructure. • Develop common frameworks and software libraries in various programming languages. • Assist in managing the running IoT Platform system architecture, identifying areas for continuous improvement with a specific emphasis on quality, performance, and security. • Work closely with architects, technical product managers, and other team members to translate overall system architecture and product requirements into well-designed, implemented, and tested software solutions. • Define methodologies and ways-of-working that promote and implement best practices and supporting tools/technologies for source control management, CI and CD architectures, performance SLAs, security audit, and monitoring. • Support the adoption of best-in-class software engineering practices, frameworks, and tools. • Troubleshoot issues in the IoT Platform system architecture. • Collaborate in defining the methodologies and ways-of-working that enable our engineering teams to flourish as we collectively build out the IoT Platform. • Utilize your strong Java Development skills, preferably with Ver. 1.8, to develop cloud-based services SaaS and platforms PaaS. • Leverage your proven hands-on in-depth experience of AWS, both in terms of traditional technologies e.g., EC2 S3 DynamoDB RDS, and more recent cutting-edge paradigms e.g., Lambda API Gateway Fargate. Requirements • Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, Python, and Go programming languages is essential. • Experience with AWS technologies and Cloud Technologies is mandatory. • Knowledge of Microservices and Spring Boot framework is required. • Must have a solid understanding of Agile Scrum methodology and best practices. • A degree in Computer Sciences or a related field is needed. • Familiarity with API development and network security is important. • Experience with monitoring tools and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues is necessary. • Understanding of service level agreements and software engineering practices is vital. • Knowledge of Node.js is beneficial. • Strong communication skills are crucial for team collaboration. • A commitment to quality, audit, and security standards is essential. • Must be able to drive continuous improvement in engineering practices and methodologies.
