OverviewSouthern Glazer’s is seeking a motivated Java Developer to join the Enterprise Common Services NorthStar team. The Developer will be responsible for developing and enhancing in-house software applications or extensions by coding to meet business requirements and objectives. This role includes developing applications, integrating data between applications, testing, and completing technical documentation while following SGWS development standards and best practices.

Primary Responsibilities Serve in an engineering capacity on application development projects. Develop, code, test, and debug software applications using Java. Design features and make improvements based on user experience data. Work on all stages of the software development life cycle (SDLC). Research, troubleshoot, maintain, and configure software; create test scripts and test applications/interfaces. Engage in high-level and low-level design for services using microservices architecture. Build Java web applications and core Java applications. Follow standards, naming conventions, and implement technology solutions. Gain familiarity with DevOps processes and develop DevOps automation pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitHub. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree. 3-5 years of experience in software/application development or comparable experience. Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience working on technology projects. Familiarity with offshore team collaboration. Experience with APIs, ESB, and interface integration. Understanding of the business functions supported by applications. Experience in evaluating and improving code quality and standards.Technical Skills:
Experience in programming and frameworks such as Java, Spring Boot, NodeJS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Docker/Containerization. Experience in designing and developing large applications utilizing microservices with Java, Spring Boot, REST, GraphQL, and NSQL. Familiarity with commerce platforms such as SAP Hybris, Oracle ATG, or similar platforms is desirable. Experience in developing event-driven solutions using Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, Kinesis, etc. Proficient in application development and support of Java/J2EE applications on an enterprise scale. Knowledge of Docker/Containerization, EKS, or similar container orchestration platforms, as well as serverless and event-driven architectures. Strong understanding of microservices architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and quality gate Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering) is a plus. Experience working with and directing third-party application developers. Familiarity with Agile Development processes. A background in Wholesale/Distribution/CPG, including accounts receivable, complex pricing, and tax laws. Experience leading and directing offshore application development programs.
