Description Job Overview: We are offering a long-term contract opportunity for a Java Developer IV in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement Java applications to support business requirements. Responsibilities include creating design documents, coding, testing, and investigating technical issues. This position requires collaboration with offshore and onshore teams and ownership of technical solutions. As part of an enterprise-level project, the candidate will work on a full-stack application used internally for asset tracking and management, focusing on both backend (60%) and frontend (40%) development. This is a growth role with room for innovation and creativity. Responsibilities: + Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications to meet business needs. + Follow established lifecycle methodologies during the software development process. + Create detailed design documents to guide projects, including coding and testing phases. + Develop and maintain web-based applications, demonstrating expertise in this area. + Debug, research, and resolve technical issues to ensure application functionality and efficiency. + Implement AB Testing strategies to enhance application performance. + Use creativity and latitude to develop new solutions and handle diverse tasks. + Stay up-to-date with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Java development field. Requirements Technical Requirements: + Experience: + Minimum 8+ years of Java development experience with Java/Spring/Boot. + Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience with React. + Proven experience in Java coding, debugging, and troubleshooting applications. + Database Expertise: + Strong knowledge of MySQL and MongoDB (or other NoSQL databases). + DevOps Tools & Environment: + Proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration. + Familiarity with Ansible for configuration management is preferred. + Basic knowledge of Linux commands. + Demonstrated ability in planning and implementing software development projects. + Knowledge of various software development methodologies. + Expertise in design and implementation of web-based systems. + Ability to interpret and implement Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) effectively. Soft Skills and Additional Details: + Strong communication skills to collaborate with offshore/onshore teams and articulate design elements. + Ability to take ownership of projects and drive them to completion. + The candidate must be comfortable participating in system design discussions during interviews.
