The role
We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join our team in Sweden. We maintain and develop several business-critical applications built on Java, .NET, and SQL Server. As we move toward a unified, modern architecture in Java and AWS, we need a help to drive technical improvements, support the team, and promote best practices in software development and agile collaboration.ResponsibilitiesHands-On Development: Design, build, and refactor systems into containerized microservices running in cloud.Handle critical maintenance & support in both modern and legacy: Handle incidents in production systems with technical investigations and solutions. Drive Modernization: Contribute to the strategy and execution of transforming legacy applications into modern cloud solutions.Support the Team: Share knowledge, promote modern software development practices, and encourage team collaboration.Advocate for Best Practices: Implement clean code principles, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker).SkillsTechnical Expertise: Around 5 years of experience with Java and microservices development.Exposure to legacy systems (e.g., .NET and relational databases like SQL Server, Postgres, MongoDB).Proficiency with Docker and experience building containerized applications.Familiarity with Spring Boot framework and AWS cloud services.Well-oriented and comfortable working on Linux on-prem servers.
Team and Collaboration:Ability to work effectively in a team environment, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues.Experience working with agile processes and a collaborative mindset.
Mindset:Passion for system modernization, solving technical challenges and improving processes.Willingness to bridge the gap between legacy systems and modern software solutions.
