Position Description:

Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada (Alternate locations: Moncton, Fredericton, Stratford or St. John's)
Hybrid - 2 days required in office weekly.

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Software Developer with experience on GCP to join our team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge applications and ensuring the security and reliability of our backend systems.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Develop microservices-based applications and design RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.
• Optimize application performance and enhance our application architecture.
• Leverage your proficiency in containerization, message queues, and cloud deployment.
• Contribute to a dynamic, collaborative development environment.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Programming.
• Experience with Java 11 and/or 17
• Experience building and deploying with Spring framework and Spring boot
• Experience with deploying apps using CI/CD
• Experience with event systems (for example Kafka)
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience with deploying apps to GKE using CI/CD
• Experience with event systems like Kafka and GCP Pub/Sub
• Experience with GCP data flow, GCP Big Query, GCS
• Comfortable using Jira, Confluence, Jenkins and Bitbucket
• Knowledge of Agile principles
• Good communication
• Interpersonal skills
