Position Description
MDOT Operations has an IT portfolio of over 150 applications. The DTMB Administrative Systems Section (ADMSS), along with it MDOT business partners, provides software maintenance and operations support for the portfolio. OSS also provides resources that support MDOT’s Call for Projects. Over the last year, six developers have left ADMSS with no replacements. This has hampered its ability to support the Call and annual maintenance requirements. The candidate may work on a variety of applications including Traffic and Safety systems TCS, SWAD and other Java/Spring based systems. The resources report to the Operations Systems Manager. Required skills include Websphere environment including Spring and Hibernate framework experience, Webpshere/JBoss/ JBPM/Drools JAVA/JEE development; JAVA Integrated Development Enviroments (IDEs); and SQL and/or PL/SQL experience.

One (1) Application/Software Engineer Senior (JEE/Java/Spring Senior Developer) Application/Software Engineer capabilities with 8 or more years of experience, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performs a variety of complicated tasks, may lead and direct the work of others, may report directly to a project lead or manager, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
The Resource needs good working experience with spring based java application framework to build and maintain the JEE/Java/spring based forms, controllers and business components debugging and changing code.
The resource to also have the database handling experience using hibernate and or JDBC, transaction handling and making appropriate call as needed by the business process.
Experience using web services, SOA based web service, Business process flow experience (ex. JBPM, and business rules handling using JBOSS DROOLS engine are required

Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Software Engineer capabilities with 8 or more years of experience, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performs a variety of complicated tasks, may lead and direct the work of others, may report directly to a project lead or manager, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Additional Requirements (highly desirable and high priority): •Documented 5 years ( in experiential section of resume, not “Summary area” experience programming in Spring framework. •Documented 5 years ( in experiential section of resume, not “Summary area” experience programming in Hibernate ORM framework. •Documented 3 years (in experiential section of resume, not “summary area” experience programming in the JBOSS Enterprise SOA environment including JBOSS Workflow and Drools Business Rules engine. •Documented 8 years (in experiential section of resume, not “summary area”) experience developing complex computer systems using Java. •Documented 8 years (in experiential section of resume, not “summary area”) experience developing complex computer systems using java IDEs such as Eclipse •Documented 5 years (in experiential section of resume, not “summary area”) experience programming in SQL and/or PL/SQL •Documented 5 years (in experiential section of resume, not “summary area”) participating as a programmer/analyst in projects using CMM/CMMI Level 3 methods and practices
