Java Tech Lead

Project Summary


NextBio Clinical is a large, complex program, with about 1.5 million SLOC, comprising Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and to a lesser extent XML and R. We make extensive use of massive (20 billion rows+) sharded MySQL databases, Hadoop, Spark, and Solr.

Responsibility


• Work with client manager / lead on assigned tasks realted to SQL query performance tuning, Jboss performance tuning, splunk report performance tuning
• Migration from Java 7 to 8
• Migration from Jboss to Tomcat 8
• Status reporting to the client lead
• Generation of ideas to improve overall health and performance of the system

Job Description


• Jboss Data Connection Pooling and overall Jboss Configuration understanding
• MYSQL query performance tuning
• Understanding of Splunk Report and performance aspects
• Setting up development environments using Jboss and MySQL database in cluster
• Radis Cashe understanding
• Understanding Java 7 and Java 8
• Understanding Tomcat 8 and migration process from Jboss to Tomcat 8
