Crane Operators

Description

Daily operation of a lattice boom crawler crane on land and barge to drive pilings for retaining walls, bulkheads, and foundations of structures such as bridges, and piers. Operators should be capable of operating hand and foot levers of hoisting equipment to position piling leads, hoist piling into leads, and position hammers over pilings. Operators should be familiar with various pile materials including but not limited to: Concrete Pile, Steel H Pile, Pipe Pile, Sheet Pile, and Timber Pile.

Responsibilities

Drive pilings for retaining walls, bulkheads, and foundations of structures, such as buildings, bridges, and piers. Use pile driver head on machine to drive pilings. Judge distance and position piling leads. Host piling into leads. Position hammers over pilings. Activate power hammers. Raise and lower hammer to drive piles. Use multiple controls to operate equipment. Oil and service machine as needed. Select appropriate attachments. Confer with building or project supervisor on job specifications. Dig trenches.

Required Qualifications

One (1) to four (4) years of experience NCCCO Certification

 

 

Carpenters

 

Job Description: 

Constructs, erects, installs, fabricates, dismantles, and repairs structures, formwork and fixtures of wood, metal forms and associated accessories. 

General Requirements: 

Practice safety rules. Follow verbal and written instructions. Safe use of hand & power tools. Report to and assist immediate supervisor. Perform quality work as determined by project specifications. Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift. Must work well as part of a team. 

Functional Requirements 

Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. Select type and size of related materials according to the job specifications. Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required such as lumber or fiberboard, and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated. Select specified type of lumber or other materials. Prepare layouts including lines and grade. Marks cutting and assembly lines on materials. Shapes materials to prescribed measurements. Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete. Assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together. Fabricate from work then load, haul, and carry it to the job site and install per drawings, sketches, or plans. Place and finish concrete in formwork and set and align form panels. Set grout forms for epoxy and cement grout. 

Qualification Standards 

One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level). Written pre-employment qualification test. Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation. New Hire Orientation Quiz Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace. Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.). Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.). 

Physical Requirements 

Must comply with company’s drug and alcohol abuse policy. Must be able to pass physical examination, pre-employment if necessary, and as required by the company. Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc. Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.). Able to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs.  Check with your project supervisor or project safety director. Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time. Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.) Must be clean shaven and able to work while wearing a respirator and other personal protective equipment, when required.

 

Laborers

Job Description 

Perform a variety of manual duties, usually working in a utility capacity by transferring from one project to another or from one task to another, where demands require assistance of workmen with varied experience and ability to work without close supervision.

General Requirements

Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift. Must work well as part of a team.

Functional Requirements 

Measure distance from grade stakes, drive stakes, stretch tight line, and grade stacks from lumber for reuse. Level earth to fine grade specifications with shovel to assist in pipe laying, preparing sub grades and other excavations. Direct other laborers in dumping concrete into forms Erect shoring and braces and paints pipe joints with sealing compound Assist in setting pumps and setting well-points. May assist heavy construction equipment operator in aligning and moving equipment such as cranes, power shovels and backhoes, verifying grades and signaling operators to adjust machines to conform to grade specifications. Directs truck drivers and scraper operators to dumping positions to maintain grades as directed by Grading Foreman or Dumping Foreman. Work in a concrete paving crew, adding to or removing concrete from in front of concrete finishing machines so that correct grade will be met. Occasionally use small power tools May work as lead man in a labor crew. Will usually exercise considerable independent judgement to plan work of a routine nature; accepts responsibility for several phases and expedites that work without having to be told or be explained the procedure for performing duties. Other related duties as required.

Piledriver/Riggers

 

Job Description: 

The Pile Driver must be skilled in the assistance of deep foundation installation including, but not limited to timber piles, concrete piles, sheet piles, drill shafts, auger cast, etc. Must also be experienced in erecting, disassemble, and working with and around pile driving equipment. Must also have basic rigging knowledge and perform general construction duties. 

JOB DUTIES: 

Must have a willingness to learn. Erect and dismantle lattice boom cranes. Obtain necessary tools and components and the lay out of work. Interpret hand signals in order to direct cranes for pile driving activities. Must be able to follow instructions Proficiency with hand and power tools. Perform physical labor that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving                                                                                                                                         your whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials at construction sites.  Act as a team led and mentor to less experienced laborers. Using safety gear and practicing safe work habits, per the company policy manual. Ability to rig equipment and material to be set into place. Ability to use tools and equipment necessary to complete the job task at hand. Will be exposed to adverse weather conditions (Heat, Cold, Rain, Etc.)

 

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: 

Ability to use math/complete calculations. Previous related experience required. 2+ years of industrial field experience as a Pile Driver Helper preferred.
