JIT Operator
**Job Description** : Indorama Ventures- Intermediate Chemicals is currently looking for a dynamic individual to work as an JIT Operator located at our Pasadena, TX location. As an JIT Operator, you’re responsible for development and maintenance of training program and materials in operations. You will conduct operator training including basic operator training, job specific operator training, management of change training, etc. Assist with reviewing and maintaining operating procedures, training manuals, job qualification assessments, and energy isolation procedures. The JIT will provide support to the Operations Maintenance Coordinator and Operations Specialist on assignments or tasks and will participate during PHA/LOPA studies and projects. This role is a straight day position, working eight hours a day Monday thru Friday. **What will be expected of you?** + Actively guide operators through basic operator skills/knowledge, job specific training and the job qualification process. + Provide feedback to supervision regarding the progress of operator trainees. + Present process overview and hazard awareness as part of new employee orientation. + Conduct and coordinate operator refresher training. + Generate and process operator qualification and refresher training records. + Maintain current, detailed knowledge and understanding of process equipment and unit operations. + Develop and maintain an understanding of incident investigation/management of change software. + Complete assigned action items prior to their due date. + Develop and maintain understanding of the Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements and ensure 100% compliance is always maintained. + Support PSM initiatives including training module creation/revision to ensure these materials meet required standards as defined by PSM, Indorama Global and site procedures and any other applicable regulations. + Participate in hazard reviews for Management of Change, PHAs, LOPAs and HAZOPS. + Assist with creating and reviewing operating procedures. + Assist with creating and reviewing Energy Isolation Procedures. + Attend and participate in audits or meetings as requested; types of audits include customer, supplier, quality, PSM safety, etc. Tasks performed by the JIT during audits often include making presentations, answering auditor’s questions, and giving tours. + Must be qualified and physically able to perform in the operator classification. + Assist with use of the handheld devices by building rounds, training, and supporting needs of operators. + Attend daily/monthly safety meetings and operations meetings. + Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet production objectives. + Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives. + Assists other employees in accomplishment of Indorama company/site goals. + Follows instructions and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. + Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company and follows procedures and practices at all times. + Participates in and completes company required training. + Embody Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). + Adhere to all QC and regulatory policies and alert leadership when potential violations are detected in operating units. + Effectively communicate with supervision, peers in-person or virtually to solve technical issues. + Collaborate with peers in QC, Ethoxylation, Specialty Chemistry, Maintenance, Engineering, Projects, and Logistics. + Track training progress and assist in evaluation of employee competency. **What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?** + Must have a high level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs. + Preferred experience training process operators. + Must have strong written and oral communication skills. + Procedure writing experience preferred. **What can we offer you?** Indorama Ventures- Intermediate Chemicals is a leading chemical intermediates and surfactants producer with a diverse range of products in growth markets such as home & personal care, agrochemicals, oilfield technologies, fuel & lube additives and more.
