Responsibilities
Perform repairs and maintenance on all equipment to comply with safety and environmental standards. Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment, such as truck, trailer, and forklift components, i.e., engine (diesel and gas), transmission (diesel and gas), differential (diesel and gas), various systems (i.e., brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic). Examines mechanical equipment and ability to diagnose malfunctions. Handle all maintenance scheduling and record keeping. Responsible for annual certification of operators' forklift safety and training program. Adjusts, cleans and lubricates parts of mechanical devices as necessary. Requisition replacement parts and equipment for shop operation. Maintain good housekeeping in work area. Follow safety programs and ensure compliance of OSHA regulation. Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: HS Diploma, GED or two (2) years equivalent work experience. Must be able to understand and communicate safety and other work-related instructions. Ability to understand and apply fundamental mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). General warehouse experience required. Normal warehouse operations environment with considerable physical exertion. Will perform duties in all weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications: Typically, more than seven (7) years of experience in related job function. Role may require technical certification, or associates degree. Certification in maintenance of internal combustion engines (diesel and gas), gear train, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic systems, etc. Understand OSHA and environmental regulations and assist with compliance. Eight (8) to ten (10) years of hands-on diesel mechanical field experience and/or education.
