Job Coach

Chrysalis is a company that provides a variety of support services for at-risk adults and/or juveniles with intellectual disabilities.  These individuals may also have a variety of medical issues.  This position requires the ability to work in stress-filled and safety-sensitive environments, make crucial decisions in regards to the care and treatment of at-risk individuals, and possess the ability to communicate those decisions effectively to the individual's team.  Under general supervision of the Supportive Employment Specialist, the Employment Coach will provide customized employment services to individuals of Chrysalis through discovery, job search planning, job development, negotiation and post-employment support.  The Employment Coach will be responsible for supervising individuals in their jobs, establish relationships with employers and assist/train the individuals on required job duties as well as functions independently within the constraints of Chrysalis' policies and procedures to assure individuals receive the highest quality of customized services possible. 

Listed wage is for job coaching duties

10.00 per hour for non certified time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Communicate effectively with the individual's team and employerPunctuality and regular/consistent attendance at the worksite are required and the employee must be able to ensure proper oversight of individuals and their worksite schedules and facilitate successful employment outcomesFollows and applies coaching techniques that promote individual independence in the workplaceBuild professional relationships with employers  Teach individuals daily living skills as it relates to the jobCreate opportunities for people to increase quality of life in their work environmentSupport the individual's choices through Discovery and implement Person Centered Plans (PCSP) and goalsComplete necessary administrative tasks and documentation within established time framesComplete and document all that is required by Chrysalis and the State such as employment records and performanceSupports problem solving processes by coaching the employer and individual while assessing performance.  Renegotiate as needed with an employerPerform other related duties or projects as assigned by supervisor

Requirements         

Minimum of least 21 years oldPass a criminal background checkBe eligible to drive according to Chrysalis policyShould possess the ability to speak, read and write effectively in English

Experience or Education:                                      

High school Diploma or GED

Training and Certifications:

Certified Customized Employment Specialist through the Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE)Certified as an Employment SpecialistComplete annual CPR, First Aid, OSHA and SOAR trainingComplete annual Human Rights, Abuse Neglect, Maltreatment and Exploitation TrainingObtain and maintain Food Handler's PermitComplete T.B. test  Complete any other required training assigned by Chrysalis

Understand policies and follow the Provider Code of Conduct/ Abuse Neglect, Exploitation, Maltreatment Policy according to state standardsExcellent public relations skills working with individuals and employment personnelAbility to work successfully unsupervisedWorks directly with individuals to obtain employment in their community at minimum wage or aboveDevelops and maintains regular business contacts in the community as well as professional relationships with individual, family,  advocates, support coordinators, worksite personnel etc. Uses customized employment techniques, including Discovery and Person Centered Service Planning (PCSP) to offer customized employment servicesThrough observation, individual interviews and general interactions, identifies individual's skills, abilities, conditions and contributions to customize the employer relationshipAbility to manage multiple time demands balancing a case load of 8-15 individuals requiring customized approach to employmentActs as a liaison in the community to ensure smooth transition and continuity of service between individuals and employerDisplays integrity, trust and follow through in all interactionsFollows established safety practices and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environmentKnowledge of Vocational Rehabilitation process and servicesWorks effectively within a team to enhance service delivery while respecting the right to privacy, confidentiality, HIPPA of the individualAttends organizational training and provides documentation of  certifications required for employment with ChrysalisUnderstand qualification process for Paratransit or other transportation options, be able to train an individual on how to use these servicesMaintains documentation of services provided that clearly and legibly reflects the individual
