About this Position:

As a Job Coach, you provide one on one support to adults with developmental disabilities at various employment sites throughout Alameda County. Must have excellent organizational, communication, computer, teaching, and problem solving skills. Must be able to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently.

This job is a great way to gain experience in the non-profit sector, social work, social services, or education and tutoring. We seek people who want to make a difference in the lives of others and are reliable, dependable, and teachable.

You would receive training and get to support clients with:

Maintaining professional relationships with coworkersOrganizing and prioritizing job tasksRequesting time off with managersPlanning a main route to work and alternate routesLearning new duties and tasksManaging stress on busy daysAnything else work related your client might need support with!

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time positionThe schedule is Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30AM - 5:30PMThere may be occasions in which you would be required to work weekends as neededWorking a caseload throughout Alameda County: Hayward, Oakland, Berkeley, and Livermore

Compensation: $23.05 per hour

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.Experience working in human services, non-profit, social work is a plusCommitted to the philosophy of individualized services, independence, and community inclusionExcellent organizational, communication, and problem solving skills.Self-motivated and able to work effectively both as a team and independentlyYou must have a reliable vehicle, auto insurance, and be willing to DRIVE OWN CAR (mileage reimbursement offered)

The Public Service Loan Forgiveness program is a federal program that forgives student loan debt for nonprofit employees after 120 qualifying payments. Employees who work at least 30 hours per week for a governmental, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, or other qualifying nonprofit organization may apply to have the balance of their student loans forgiven (tax free) after making 120 monthly payments.
