Black & McDonald Limited is actively seeking a Job Cost Analyst to support the Southern Ontario Region's Accounting and Finance Team, located in Scarborough, Ontario. The Job Cost Analyst's primary areas of responsibility will consist of ongoing performance and monitoring of job cost and billing functions in support of regional business activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain project budgets, analyze budget variances and prepare estimates of costs to completeUse JD Edwards software to set up job, add cost codes, log, enter, and review change orders, record booked sales, and review/update job forecastMonitor labour costPrepare salary recovery worksheets and other cost transfer formsRun and review productivity reportPrepare detail variance analysis and identify trendsFlag any potential risks and concernsProvide job cost information for month end, quarter end and year end closeRun profit recognition reportParticipate in month-end WIP reviewsEnsure the project set up/structure supports the billing requirements, billing line set up as requiredGenerate accurate and timely draft billing for customer approval, post approved invoices, and collect overdue invoicesElevate payment issues related to performanceReconcile monthly billed/unbilled vs. revenue activity, and investigate/resolve unexplained reconciling itemsSend invoices to clientMonitor job for holdback release timelines and required documents for releaseProvide ad-hoc financial analysis and reports for management as requested

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Post-secondary education in accounting/finance or equivalent experience

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

2-5 years proven experience with budgetary preparation and maintenance in a construction setting

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Advanced user of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and JD EdwardsExcellent time management skillsStrong organizational skills
