Job Developer
We are hiring in Queens! Join us at Fedcap Inc. for an exciting career as a Job Developer. Wage/Salary: 55k-60k | Non-Exempt: Full-Time Position Summary: Job Developer is responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with employers to create unsubsidized employment opportunities for clients. Essential Job Functions: + Conducts cold calls to employers to identify job leads and businesses that are currently hiring, in addition to follow-up calls to employers. + Weekly visits to participants in Rikers Island transitioning out for employment group/discussions. + Secures transitional and permanent placements, including but not limited to part-time and/or full-time employment + Conducts field visits to ensure that all businesses are well versed in the methodologies of the program and open to hiring justice-involved participants + Regularly reviews local postings and websites to remain abreast of local job fairs and employer open houses, and refer all qualified participants + Possesses a comprehensive job bank and or/ the ability to leverage relationships to meet the needs of participants. + Meets and understands the skills of job seekers to identify barriers to employment, as well as how to best present them to employers + Produces daily and weekly reports on employment outcomes + Designs and creates recruitment strategies, job fairs, on-site employer visits, “meet the manager” days, and cyber info sessions for internet job search companies that operate and screen through automated methods. + Enters case notes for every job seeker in FedcapCARES + Tracks retention for all participants. Education and Experience: + Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, management, human relations, or related field preferred. (Four years of experience working in Workforce Development may supplement the degree.) + Experience in outside sales or job development and placement track record; demonstrate established relationships with employers in the New York City area. + Experience working with public assistance recipients, the homeless, the formally incarcerated, and/or those affected by the challenges associated with poverty is a plus + Must have a mastery of all the key activities that customers must complete to successfully gain and retain employment + Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills + Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Office products + Highly organized and detail-minded + Must be able to receive entrance clearance to Rikers Island + Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred Equal Opportunity Employer
