Internship/Job Placement Consultant, OTI Summary : The Internship/Job Placement Consultant will work with students in the CASAC training program to prepare and place them into OASAS-approved internships and assist them to find employment when needed. This candidate must have daytime availability btwn 9-4p. + Provide quarterly job preparation groups for students to assist them to obtain and retain an internship/job. + Assist students with the preparation of resumes. + Work in conjunction with the OTI Director and Administrative Manager to identify students in need of internship placement. + Set up group and individual meetings with students to identify their preferences for internship location and type. + Provide support and counseling to students experiencing difficulties interfering with internship placement and report these to administration. + Contact established internship sites to elicit interest in specific students and forward resumes. Connect student with the appropriate contact person to arrange an interview . + When needed, identify new and appropriate internship sites. Meet with site supervisors to ensure the internship will provide an appropriate and valuable internship experience and explain the benefits and responsibilities of having an OTI intern. + Ensure all site supervisors have and sign the OTI Internship Site MOU and any other required documents before placing the student. + Participate in weekly meetings with the Administrative Manager and OTI Director to review and report student progress. + Document student progress and status in the placement process. + Debrief students post-interview to determine if the students were appropriate for the opening. Contact the site interviewers to gain similar feedback. + Link students to internship supervision at OTI. + Send students information about job openings, when announcements are received. + Advise students who are job seeking about agencies that may be hiring, make connections with agency contacts on behalf of students where appropriate. + Report referral and placement activity to OTI management. Collaborates with: Administrative Manager, OTI Internship Supervisor Supervised by: Director of OTI Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline, experience in vocational, counseling, or job placement services, or the equivalent in relevant professional experience. Familiarity with OASAS programs and SUD treatment. Master’s preferred.
