Leidos is seeking a Systems Engineer to support our NAVAIR customer in Lexington Park, MD. The ideal candidate will have experience performing systems engineering, systems analysis, and supporting software development activities in support of acquisition, design, test and operations. This position can be performed remotely, with up to 25% travel required.

Position Responsibilities:

Provide engineering design and analysis assessmentsValidate system and customer requirementsDraft system specificationsRoadmap and release planningFormal software and system milestone reviewsCONOPS and use case developmentRisk adjudicationPerform trade studies and author technical white papersFeature design and user story developmentDefect managementConduct and lead system test eventsCapture meeting minutes and action itemsEvaluate vendor design and requirements specifications, hardware proposals and software solutionsAbility to establish a plan for a project and accomplish goals embodied by the planCoordinate and lead technical exchange meetings with vendors, customers and system operatorsAbility to work in ambiguous situations relying on creativity to deliver productsAbility to explain and effectively communicate complex engineering analyses and studies to government and corporate managementAbility to contribute to team efforts or to operate completely independently

Required Qualifications:

B.S. in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or other related fields.  Additional years of specific experience can be considered in lieu of degree.10+ years of related experience.Demonstrated initiative and strong ownership of deliverablesDemonstrated experience leading working groupsVery comfortable speaking to groupsStrong writing skillsModel Based System Engineering experienceSAFe agile experienceIntegrated development tool experience, such as DOORS, JAMA, Jira, Magic Draw, etc.
 

Desired Qualifications:

5+ years of experience conducting engineering analysis, modeling, and simulation4+ years of experience working in the defense and/or intelligence industry4+ years of experience with the IMINT, GEOINT and Targeting communitiesExperience with the TLAM weapon system or other weapon systemsExperience with imagery-based mission planning navigation products

Security Requirements: Must be eligible to obtain government Secret security clearance, with the ability to hold up to Top Secret / SCI clearance.

Pay Range:Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
