  The Role at a glance:


We are looking for a skilled, Director of Accounting to join Elior’s Corporate Accounting team and work in a remote capacity. There is significant involvement with the month end close process, consolidation, technical accounting research, reporting, liaising with Parent Company and ad hoc data analysis. This person will manage the external audit process for North America in collaboration with the Parent Company. This position requires a motivated self-starter who is very organized, accurate, and able to communicate in a professional manner with the corporate team.

This role is located in our Houston, TX corporate office.

What you'll be doing: In collaboration with Shared Services, review and analyze trial balances located on 14 separate databases to ensure accuracy and consistency of account mapping and reporting. Identify anomalies and resolve.  Perform fluctuation analysis on balance sheet and income statement accounts to identify trends inconsistent from expectations.  Prepare Period End statutory reporting package for submission to Parent Company in accordance with IFRS.  Prepare high risk account reconciliations including non-recurring, workers compensation, Health Benefits, capitalization of purchasing income, revenue recognition, IFRS 16 and others as appropriate. Analyze capital and operational spend by project and present results to Executive Management including fixed asset roll forward.  Monitor and analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, expenses, DSO, inventory turnover and capital expenditures.  Create financial reports and other analyses and participate in special projects as requested by management to enhance the Period End Close optimization initiative.  Support completion of Company’s income tax filings with outsourcing partner Finance Director of Accounting Updated January 2023  Maintain chart of accounts and rationalize as needed to support management and statutory reporting.  Develop, maintain, and expand accounting policy and procedures to ensure consistency across the organization. Develop key relationships with functional leaders to ensure consistent application of accounting policy and practices. What we're looking for:

Must-haves: 

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting/Finance or other business-related field  8+ years of progressive accounting or finance management experience  Self-starter with the ability to problem solve and bring tasks to completion  Advanced PC skills particularly in the use of Excel is required  Must be able to communicate ideas effectively and concisely to all levels, including internal management and segment finance peers  Background in collaborating with a team and establishing good working relationships  Ability to coordinate the completion of multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize competing requirements  Must pay close attention to detail and have a high degree of accuracy in work product  Must be extremely organized and able to manage a high volume of data and information  Flexible and able to respond to changing demands of position Travel to various locations as needed, normally less than 10%


Nice-to-haves: 

Experience with SAP, Great Plains or other large ERP systems  Experience with BI360 or similar reporting applications  Competent in International Financial Reporting Standards IIFRS) accounting practices  CPA Certification
