Position SummaryThe Senior Applications Analyst – Windchill PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) is a position in the PLM Applications team. This team is responsible for the support, enhancement and implementation of software applications to support STERIS R&D and Service. Applications in this area include (PTC) Integrity, Windchill (PLM), Arbortext Content Delivery, Jama Connect (ALM), and Navigate. Client-side tools that interact with these applications include Creo, SolidWorks, Creo Illustrate, Arbortext, and Titania Web Editor. STERIS is embarking on several projects to greatly expand the usage of these applications and tools in the Service area. This position will be focused on supporting these applications to assist with this expansion.
The Senior Applications Analyst – PLM, will have ownership of multiple modules in Enterprise Windchill Application and related applications, and will be responsible for maintaining and supporting them. The Analyst will assist with the development, configuration, testing, implementation, and technical support of PLM applications supporting the Service business teams. They will work with business team members to translate user requirements into system design specifications, develop code, perform testing, investigate and resolve issues, and monitor production systems. There will be interaction with business users to understand issues, gather requirements, coordinate testing and implement solutions.
Support of the applications would include resolving issues reported by users. Resolution process will include, but not limited to, investigating known bugs on software vendor support website, creating tickets or service requests with software vendor, working with technical team, testing fixes and coordinating changes to production.
This position will work on development requests and projects. This position will have responsibility for significant software development tasks. This will involve scheduling tasks, managing user expectations, meeting project and key initiative deadlines. Tasks will include, but not limited to, interacting with business users to gather requirements, designing technical solutions, unit testing programs, user testing, documentation and implementation. Requests involve development of reports, alerts, workflows, interfaces and data conversion programs.
Participation in team and / or project meetings, to schedule work and discuss status, will be required. Interaction with others in the Business Application team or another team will also be required.
Project Leadership and Management - 25%
1. Provide liaison between business teams and development team.
2. Serve as business analyst and project lead on technical projects based on the business plan.
3. Create and submit proposals, and implement approved project plans.
4. Develops and submits budget proposals and funding requests.
Design, Develop and Configure Systems – 25%
1. Researches, evaluates and recommends software, hardware and cloud technologies.
2. Performs testing and evaluation, including development lab activities for new technology solutions.
3. Interfaces with software vendors and internal accounting department to facilitate the purchase of hardware and software.
4. Designs, configures and implements departmental I.T. technology systems.
Technical Support, System Administration and Maintenance - 50%
1. Contribute with the PLM application team to develop, configure, and resolve issues with PTC Windchill/SIM, and Arbortext Content Delivery application areas.
2. Builds Windchill customizations and workflows; maintains system properties, custom files, and services.
3. Identifies, assesses, and documents business requirements, and provides recommendations to the business based on alternatives, risks, costs, and benefits.
4. Research to determine if existing solutions can be leveraged to resolve business problems or provide alternatives to build/buy automated solutions.
5. Gain familiarization with Arbortext Editor, and Creo Illustrate and understand how they are utilized in structured content creation and delivery.
6. Creates test plans and test cases, executes test scripts, and records results.
7. Analyze and provide impact analysis for recommended solutions.
8. Provides input to the development of business use cases and test cases.
9. Assists with Service-related projects in the PLM area.
10. Creates and maintains system documentation.
