Overview:\n

The AFINC III contract supporting the 26th\u202fNetwork Operations Squadron (26NOS) is seeking qualified Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS) Engineer. The JRSS team oversees an enterprise DoD environment supporting the USAF that requires a unique and dynamic skill set.\u202f\n

Responsibilities:\n\nDesigns, engineers, and implements associated projects.\nDevelop LAN\/WAN network designs to accommodate a data center migration.\u202f\nDemonstrated knowledge and hands on experience with LAN\/WAN setup, TCP\/IP protocol, routing\/switching configurations, and firewall technologies.\u202f\nDemonstrated knowledge with content switching and load balancers.\u202f\nTroubleshooting complex network issues such as performance analysis, protocol problems, hardware failures and WAN\/LAN connectivity issues.\u202f\nVoIP component configuration and deployment experience\u202fis\u202fa plus.\u202f\nHave a general knowledge of systems and enterprise storage technologies.\u202f\nParticipate in the implementation of agreed upon solutions and strategies.\u202f\nTroubleshoot technology issues, using various internal and external resources.\u202f\nGenerate innovative approaches and solutions to recurring tasks or problems.\u202f\nDocument technical problems, resolutions, and processes for assigned tasks and projects.\u202f\nParticipate in testing and evaluation of new technologies to ensure compatibility and functionality.\u202f\nFollow policies and procedures for change and incident management.\nResponsible for the full integration of the JRSS platform and associated support systems for the program.\nDesign, engineer and integrate and operate the JRSS systems into AFINC architecture seamlessly.\nResolves network problems; operate network analyzers, WAN test equipment, and network simulators.\nMonitors data or voice system networks for various messages, alarms, or issues. Activates scripts as alarms occur or issues surface.\nTroubleshoots problems using scripts and standard, routine procedures.\nResearch issues to determine if problem may be resolved using predefined procedures.\nExecutes scheduled maintenance routines in accordance with standard procedures. Identifies issues or problems and resolves as appropriate; Performs 1-4 problem determination.\nParticipate in the implementation of agreed upon solutions and strategies.\nTroubleshoot technology issues, using various internal and external resources.\nGenerate innovative approaches and solutions to recurring tasks or problems.\nDocument technical problems, resolutions, and processes for assigned tasks and projects.\nParticipate in testing and evaluation of new technologies to ensure compatibility and functionality.\n\n

Qualifications:\n\nCandidate should have 7+ years of\u202fprogressively responsible network engineering hands-on in:\nEnterprise network management, focusing primarily on Cisco devices.\nInstallation, configuration, and support of network switches, routers, and wireless Aps\nExperience with network topologies such as Ethernet, Fast Ethernet,\u202fGbE\u202fVLAN, and SONET.\u202f\nExperience in implementing converged networks to include VoIP, VTC and QoS methods.\u202f\nProven experience and success with LAN, WAN, and WLAN implementation and management.\nProven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.\nStrong working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including Cisco products and solutions.\nStrong, hands-on technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Cisco IOS platforms.\nExcellent network hardware troubleshooting experience.\nAbility to understand the organization's goals and objectives and implement solutions to meet those goals and objectives.\nKnowledge of networking protocols and IP subnetting\nKnowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS, BGP)\nKnowledge and experience with Juniper platform\u202fare\u202fa plus.\nMust be able to push\/pull, lift, or carry up to 50 lbs.\nMust be willing to travel up to 5% of the year, dependent on contract needs and requirements that may arise.\nExperience in directly managing teams of diverse technical personnel responsible for the daily operations.\n\n

Education\/Certification(s):\n\nTechnical degree, Associates or, bachelor's degree in computer science\/information systems, Science\/Engineering\/Math, or 7+ years' relevant experience in Information Technology preferably within system or application administration is acceptable.\n\n\nRequires\u202fa DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level\u202fII\u202fcertification:\n\n\nCompTIA\u202fSecurity+ CE\u202f(Continuing Education)\n\n\nCompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+)\u202fCE\u202f(Continuing Education)\n\n\n(ISC)\u00b2 Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)\n\n\nGIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)\n\n\nGIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)\n\n\nRequires\u202fat least one\u202for more Computing Environment\/Operating System (CE\/OS) Defense Cyberspace Workforce Certification (DCWF) requirement(s):\n\n\nPaulo Alto - PCNSE\n\n\nCisco - CCNP\n\n
