A week in the life of a Journey Flight Controls Software / Computer Engineer includes:

Provide technical and programmatic support and oversight on Navy aircraft platforms including F-35, E-2, and F-18. Perform software testing at the unit, component, and software configuration item level on safety-critical systems. Conduct test planning, execution, and reporting on software-intensive aircraft systems. Design, develop, integrate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain aircraft safety-critical software. Perform low-level software / hardware interfacing such as board support packages. Analyze redundancy management of safety critical control systems. Support Built-In-Test (BIT) design and test. Complete Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) design, development, integration, and test including processor caching, software throughput, and space and time partitioning. Support the flight control system software support activity.
