Journeyman Electrician
**Job Title: Journeyman Electrician** **Job Description** A Journeyman Electrician works directly with electrical components, including wiring, outlets, and machines or electronics. Some electricians specialize in commercial work, while others specialize in specific industries. For example, some Journeyman Electricians provide support in factory and manufacturing environments. **Responsibilities** + Install electrical wiring to ensure electrical systems in a home, business, or other environment. + Troubleshoot electrical issues to find the source of a reported problem and identify repair options. + Repair electrical wiring and components. + Inspect components, including wiring and electrical products, to ensure they’re safe and within the required code. + Train Apprentices and newer Electricians and oversee their work. + Upgrade existing electrical systems to enhance performance, reduce utility costs, and ensure safety. **Essential Skills** + Proficiency in electrical systems: install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and devices. + Understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codes. + Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment, such as drills, hammers, and wires. + Strong troubleshooting skills to assess, diagnose, and resolve electrical problems. + Knowledge of safety procedures and the ability to implement safety standards. + Experience in conduit bending and installation. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints. + Mechanical skills for repair and maintenance. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Ability to install and maintain wiring, lighting, and control systems, including circuit breakers, switches, and outlets. + Capability to inspect electrical components like transformers and circuit breakers, and use testing devices to identify problems. + Skills to repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures using hand and power tools. + Compliance with state and local building regulations, as well as OSHA safety requirements. + Experience in training and supervising apprentice electricians. + Ability to provide customers with estimates for electrical work. + Proficiency in documenting problems and preparing reports. + Ability to order electrical components and keep track of inventory. **Why Work Here?** This is a long-term opportunity with the potential for growth and stability. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity after 520 hours, with potential for long-term employment. Overtime work may be required as needed. Safety meetings will be attended before starting shifts. You must be able to follow work orders and document them in the computer system. Available schedules include Sunday-Thursday or Thursday-Saturday, with 1st shift hours from 7 am to 4 pm. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, Texas. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
