Journeyman Electrician
**Job Title: Journeyman Electrician** **Job Description** We are looking for a dedicated Journeyman Electrician to join our team at a steel processing plant. In this role, you will be responsible for both mechanical and electrical repair of various machines in the facility, including furnaces, conveyor systems, hydraulics, rollers, and PLCs. The primary focus will be on electrical repairs, managing up to 480 volts, and assisting with general facilities repairs. **Responsibilities** + Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on machines, including furnaces, conveyor systems, hydraulics, rollers, and PLCs. + Conduct electrical repairs on drivers, motors, control centers, fuse boxes, and breakers. + Support other technicians with basic mechanical repairs. + Handle electrical repairs up to 480 volts. + Assist with general facilities repairs such as in bathrooms, outdoor areas, and inside the plant. **Essential Skills** + Journeyman Electrician Card or an Electrical Certification accepted by the Department of Labor. + At least 8000 hours of work signed off by a Journeyman. + Experience working with up to 480 volts. + Experience in an industrial facility/environment. + Proficiency in troubleshooting machinery. + Strong electrical repair skills. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in maintenance roles such as Maintenance Electrician, Electrical Repair, and Machine Repair. + Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical issues. + Willingness to work 40-60 hours per week, including weekends when needed. **Why Work Here?** Join a team dedicated to safety and excellence in a clean, orderly steel processing environment. The facility has large storage areas both inside and outside. The environment is clean and orderly, but due to the size and weight of the steel, safe work practices are critical. The work schedule is Sunday through Thursday, with every other weekend required. The shift is from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MONROE, Michigan. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $36.25 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
