Journeyman Financial Analyst

POSITION OVERVIEW DEFTEC Corporation seeks a Journeyman Financial Analyst to support intelligence and operational efforts in targeting, identifying, and disrupting illicit financial networks and individuals posing national security threats as part of the FBI's Counterterrorism Division (CTD). This role involves proactive and reactive financial analysis, intelligence reporting, and collaboration with government agencies. The analyst will analyze financial transactions, trace illicit money flows, and produce actionable intelligence to combat terrorism financing, money laundering, and other financial crimes that fund threat actors. The FBI's CTD is dedicated to detecting, preventing, and disrupting terrorist threats to the United States. CTD works in collaboration with intelligence agencies, law enforcement partners, and global allies to identify and dismantle terrorist networks, illicit financial operations, and other activities that threaten national security. The division conducts in-depth investigations, develops intelligence products, and provides critical support to field operations. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: + Conduct research and analysis using open-source and social media tools. + Perform financial and data analysis on individuals, networks, and entities using public/open-source databases (e.g., Dunn & Bradstreet, Accurint, Lexis Nexis). + Utilize Sayari to map corporate networks, ownership, and common addresses. + Perform cryptocurrency tracing and analysis using Chain Analysis Reactor and other forensic tools. + Investigate illicit financial facilitators involved in weapons trafficking, bulk cash smuggling, and financial crimes. + Develop intelligence reports and analytic products in compliance with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) tradecraft. + Provide insights on anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, Bank Secrecy Act documents, and financial intelligence operations (FININT). + Ensure deliverables (work papers, reports, presentations) are timely and follow FBI policies. + Participate in periodic progress meetings and status reporting (bi-weekly, monthly). QUALIFICATIONS: Required Qualifications: + U.S. Citizenship and active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph. + Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. + Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial intelligence analysis or forensic accounting. + Expertise in anti-money laundering (AML), compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and financial investigative techniques. + Experience in cryptocurrency tracing and analysis tools. + Familiarity with law enforcement interdictions, illicit financial networks, and counter-threat finance operations. + Ability to analyze large datasets and present actionable insights to decision-makers. + Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing classified intelligence reports in accordance with ODNI standards. + Knowledge of intelligence operations, investigative techniques, and national security threats. + Proficiency in advanced analytical tools and methodologies, including network mapping and predictive modeling. Preferred Qualifications + Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS) certification. + Experience developing targeting packages, geospatial intelligence, and strategic/tactical intelligence analysis. + Background in forensic accounting, auditing, or financial exploitation within government agencies.
