Journeyman Gas

Salary: $40.81 to $54.44 per hour, 5-step progression, Bargaining Unit

Job Description
To perform skilled and other tasks related to installing, relocating, repairing and maintaining gas mains, services and related facilities. The Gas Journeyman is expected to know all aspects of the Avista Construction Specialist duties as well as perform shared tasks with Gas Servicemen.

Requirements

Requires 1-2 years experience installing or repairing gas mains, related facilities and leak investigations.  Must have knowledge and experience in operating a backhoe, combustible gas indicator, tapping equipment and fusion equipment.  Requires a valid driver’s license with CDL Endorsement and must be able to obtain a gas fitter’s license.  Must have and maintain a current certification for plastic fusion’s and arc welding.  Must be able to read and understand project plans, field grades and station markers. Be able to recognize conflicts with other utilities.  Requires a complete working knowledge of safety rules and standards.  Requires first aid certification and CPR competency. 

Other combinations of education/experience may be considered.

This classification is subject to the 35-mile residency requirement.
