Job Description
A construction company located in San Francisco is seeking a mobile journeyman glazier. This skilled construction professional will independently cut, fit, install, and repair various types of glass in commercial and residential buildings, following blueprints and specifications. The role ensures proper measurements, quality craftsmanship, and adherence to safety standards, typically requiring several years of experience in the trade. Gas and mileage reimbursement will be provided during the probation period, and a company vehicle will be provided afterward.
ResponsibilitiesAccurately measure and cut glass to precise dimensions using specialized tools like glass cutters and grinders, considering the shape and design of the project.Install glass panels into various frames including windows, doors, storefronts, skylights, and shower enclosures, utilizing proper installation techniques and fasteners.Read and understand blueprints to determine the type, size, and placement of glass required for each project.Prepare installation areas by removing existing glass, cleaning frames, and applying weather stripping or sealant as needed.Inspect installed glass for proper fit, alignment, and functionality, ensuring a professional finish.Perform repairs on damaged glass, including replacing broken panes and addressing glazing issues.Safely handle and transport large glass sheets, using appropriate lifting techniques.Maintain and properly care for specialized glazier tools such as glass cutters, suction cups, and setting blocks.Essential SkillsProficient in measuring, cutting, and fitting glass to exact specifications.Ability to precisely position and install glass with accuracy.Capability to lift and maneuver heavy glass panels.Ability to identify and resolve installation challenges on-site.Commitment to high-quality craftsmanship and finishing details.Understanding and adherence to safety protocols related to working with glass and at heights.Additional Skills & QualificationsCompletion of a recognized glazier apprenticeship program or equivalent on-the-job training.Several years of documented experience as a glazier, demonstrating proficiency in a variety of glass installation techniques.May require a valid driver's license for job site travel.Why Work Here?

The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $83200.00
